Ján Tkáč


Jan has 26 years of experience in biotechnology gained mostly during his work at the Institute of Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences, as well as 3 postdoctoral stays at Oxford University (2006-2008), Lund University (2003-2006), and Linkoping University (2001-2003). He holds many prestigious grants, awards, and scholarships including two grants from the European Research Council (ERC):

2020: Top 3 Crystal Wing, category Science and Medicine

2019: Holder of the ESET Science Award

2018: Holder of the prestigious ERC Proof of Concept grant

2018: Award from the Minister of Education Award for the Scientific Team of the Year

2016: Scientist of the Year 2015 in Slovakia

2014: Award from the Minister of Education “Small Medal of Samuel Mikovíni"

2013: Holder of a prestigious ERC consolidator grant

2006: Member of the team winning the worldwide competition of business plans Nanochallenge 2006

He published 150+ research papers with 3,500+ citations and he is/was supervisor of 10 PhD. students.

Tomáš Bertók


Tomas has 16 years of experience in nanotechnology and applied biochemistry gained mostly during his work at the Institute of Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences. He focuses on preclinical validations, biomarker discovery and assay development, implementation, and design of innovative diagnostic tests. He holds many prestigious grants, awards, and scholarships. He also devotes his time to numerous popularization activities and lectures.

2018: Czech and Slovak Academy of Sciences Award for the best publication

He published more than 55+ scientific papers with 1500+ citations (h-index 22), he is author of 2 books and another 3 book chapters. He is/was supervisor of 5 PhD. students.

Eva Kováčová


Eva has 18 years of experience in M&A, licensing, and financial leadership in the pharmaceutical industry throughout Europe. She has led several multi-million M&A transactions and post-M&A integration projects. She joined the team in January 2021 as CEO with the overall responsibility for the business strategy and the licensing process. Prior to joining Glycanostics she focused on following projects within the pharmaceutical industry:

2019-2020: Market Cutover Lead responsible for the integration process to create the Joint Venture between GSK Consumer Healthcare and Pfizer Consumer Healthcare in Europe and Latin America

2018 – 2019: EMEA Integration Lead for multi-billion private equity carve out of LifeScan division from J&J

2015-2017: GSK London –Integration Lead responsible for the creation of new JV companies (via an asset carve out from Novartis and GSK) in Latin America and Europe

2014-2015: GSK London: Director Corporate Development, leading several M&A deals on behalf of GSK in the value of hundreds of millions GBP

2009-2011: GSK Central Europe – In-licensing Director, focused on signing the license agreements for the region of Central Europe

2002-2009: GSK Slovakia – Finance Director, responsible for accounting, controlling, reporting, distribution, logistics, IT and compliance.
